home, sweet home.

March 28th, 2009

it’s hard getting back into things… was gone for about a week, visiting family (was so fun!) and now i’m back, but with a lovely cold that’s kicking my bum. *cough, cough*

but it was good to get home. (i guess this is home now?) and i am still always amazed at the view from Beau’s…. every day and every night it is different! I’d never seen the water to still and reflective during a sunset like this before… it was so cool. And when i started taking pics there was some sort of seagull frenzy freakout so they were all over in the shots. pretty pretty :)

the cozy world of black apple.

March 14th, 2009

Inside A Black Apple is one of my favorite sites to visit. i marvel every time at how warm and cozy the world is that emily martin (aka the black apple) has created. Even the colors on her site make me smile :)

We were lucky enough to get her for our Oceanic show last july, and i repeatedly kick myself for not buying an original painting of hers when i had the chance! (Every time she updates her etsy site with new and wonderful dolls, paintings and hand-crafted goodies they sell out within … minutes, i’d dare to venture? I’ve never made it in time to see for sure!)

I also love the glimpse into her home life she gives us, with pics of table settings, room decor or her outfit for the day. Again, cozy and always beautiful. It makes me happy to see her work. And happy that she has created this world to share with all of us!
